H.R. 645: Reauthorization of Rhinoceros and Tiger Conservation Act

Title: To reauthorize the Rhinoceros and Tiger Conservation Act of 1994.

Congressman Wayne Gilchrest (R-MD) introduced legislation to reauthorize the Rhinoceros and Tiger Conservation Act of 1994 through the year 2007.  The current law, which will expire in 2002, assists in the conservation of rhinoceros and tigers by supporting and providing financial resources of up to $5 million per year for the conservation programs of nations whose activities directly or indirectly affect rhinoceros and tiger populations, and of the CITES Secretariat.
